Stopping the release of pages in a DP-VOL

The Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role is required to perform this task.

1. Perform one of the following to display the Reclaim Zero Pages window.

For Command Suite:

• On the Resource tab, expand the Storage Systems tree. Right-click Volumes of the target storage system, then select System GUI. On the LDEVs tab, select Stop Reclaiming Zero Pages.

For the Logical Devices window in Storage Navigator:

• Expand the Storage Systems tree and select Logical Devices. On the LDEVs tab, select the LDEV to be operated, click More Actions, then click Stop Reclaiming Zero Pages.

• Expand the Storage Systems tree and select Logical Devices. Click Actions > Logical Device > Stop Reclaiming Zero Pages to open the window.

For the Pools window in Storage Navigator:

• Expand the Storage Systems tree and select Pools. On the Virtual Volumes tab, select the LDEV to be operated, click More Actions, then Stop Reclaiming Zero Pages.

• Expand the Storage Systems tree and select Pools. On the Virtual Volumes tab, click Actions > Logical Device > Stop Reclaiming Zero Pages to open the window.

You cannot stop releasing the pages in a DP-VOL where zero pages are not being reclaimed.

2. In the Confirm window, confirm the settings, in Task Name type a unique name for this task or accept the default, then click Apply.

If Go to tasks window for status is checked, the Tasks window opens.
