Formatting parity groups
Before you begin
The Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role is required to perform this task.
Procedure
When formatting of all drives which constitute of a parity group, perform the following procedure.
Perform one of the following to display the tab.
For Command Suite:
On the Resource tab, expand the Storage Systems tree. Right-click Parity Groups of the target storage system, then select System GUI. Select the Parity Groups tab.
For the Parity Groups window in Storage Navigator:
To display all parity groups in the storage system, in the storage system tree, select Parity Groups, then select the Parity Groups tab.
To display parity groups related to Internal or External, in the storage system tree, expand Parity Groups and select Internal or External, then select the Parity Groups tab.
Block all LDEVs in the target parity groups.

Perform one of the following to display the Format Parity Groups window.
Click Format Parity Groups.
Click Actions > Parity Group > Format Parity Groups to open the window.
In the Format Parity Groups window, in Task Name type a unique name for this task or accept the default, then click Apply.
If Go to tasks window for status is checked, the Tasks window opens.
