Adding a host to the selected iSCSI target
The Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role is required to perform this task.
Perform one of the following to display the tab.
For Command Suite:
On the Resource tab, expand the Storage Systems tree. On the target storage system, click Port / Host Group. On the Ports / Host Groups / iSCSI Targets window, select the Host Groups / iSCSI Targets tab.
For Storage Navigator:
To display all iSCSI targets in the storage system, in the Storage Systems tree, expand the Ports / Host Groups / iSCSI Targets. Select the Host Groups / iSCSI Targets tab
To display iSCSI targets related to each port, in the Storage Systems tree, expand the Ports / Host Groups / iSCSI Targets and select the port. Select the iSCSI Targets tab
To display each iSCSI target, in the Storage Systems tree, expand the Ports / Host Groups / iSCSI Targets. Select the port and the iSCSI target. Select the Host tab.
Select the iSCSI target to which the host is added. If the Host tab is selected, go to the next step.
Display the Add Hosts window by performing one of the following:
Click Add Hosts.
From the Actions menu, select Ports/Host Groups, iSCSI, then Add Hosts.
Select the desired host from the Available Hosts table, then click Add.
Selected iSCSI targets are listed in the Selected Hosts table.
If the desired host has never been connected with a cable to any port in the storage system, perform the following steps:
Click Add New Host under the Available Hosts list.
The Add New Host dialog box opens.
Select the format from iqn or eui. Enter the desired name in the HBA iSCSI Name box.
If necessary, enter a nickname for the host bus adapter in the Host Name box.
Click OK to close the Add New Host dialog box.
Select the desired host bus adapter from the Available Hosts list.
Click Finish.
The Confirm window appears.
In the Confirm window, confirm the settings, in Task Name type a unique name for this task or accept the default, then click Apply.
If Go to tasks window for status is checked, the Tasks window opens.
Click OK to close a message.
