Disabling accelerated compression on a parity group
Before you begin
You must have the Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role.
Set the drive type of the parity group to FMC.
The emulation type of the target parity group must be OPEN-V.
You should format the parity group.
The RAID level and drive configuration of the target parity group must be accessible for use for pool volumes.
The target parity group must be in a storage system (an internal parity group).
The status of LDEVs in the target parity group must be Normal or Blocked.
The Expanded Space Used column for the the target parity group must be No.
Procedure
Perform one of the following to display the parity group to be operated.
For Command Suite:
On the Resource tab, expand the Storage Systems tree. Click Parity Groups of the target storage system.
For Storage Navigator:
Perform (1) or (2) to display the Parity Groups tab:
(1) To display all parity groups in the storage system, in the storage system tree, select Parity Groups, then select the Parity Groups tab.
(2) To display parity groups related to Internal, in the storage system tree, expand Parity Groups, select Internal, then select the Parity Groups tab.
Select the target parity group.
If the accelerated compression setting is changed from Enable to Disable, you must format the target parity group first.
Perform one of the following to display the Edit Parity Group window.
For Command Suite:
Select the parity group of the target, click Edit Parity Groups.
For Storage Navigator:
Select the parity group of the target.
To display the Edit Parity Groups window, perform one of the following:
(1) Click More Actions, then select Edit Parity Groups.
(2) Click Actions > Parity Group > Edit Parity Groups to open the window.
If the parity group of the target is not formatted, format the parity group. If the accelerated compression setting is disabled before the parity group is formatted, you must still format the parity group.
Select the check box for accelerated compression, and then check Disable.
Click Finish.
In the Confirm window, confirm the settings. In Task Name, type a unique name for this task or accept the default, then click Apply.
If Go to tasks window for status is checked, the Tasks window opens.
