Monitoring failure information in Windows Event Log
You can manage the Windows error information by outputting failure information to the event log.
Before you begin
Storage system status in the Storage Device List must be READY.
Procedure
Open a Windows command prompt with administrator permissions in SVP.
Execute the following command: C:\Mapp\wk\model-identification-number\DKC200\mp\pc\eventlog.bat start-output_stop monitoring-period
A space is required between eventlog.bat and start-output_stop.
A space is required between start-output_stop and monitoring-period.
C:\Mapp shows the installation directory of the SVP. If you specify a directory other than C:\Mapp, replace with your specified directory.
The following is an explanation of specifying values:
Model-identification-number:
83+model name+serial number of the storage system
83xxxxyyyyy
xxxx: Model name (VSP G200: 2000, VSP G400 and VSP F400: 4000, VSP G600 and VSP F600: 6000, VSP G800 and VSP F800: 8000)
yyyyy: Serial number of the storage system
For example: If the model name is VSP G600, and the serial number of the storage system is 400102, the value is 836000400102.
start-output_stop:
0: Stop output of the failure information
1: Start output of the failure information
monitoring-period
Enter the monitoring period of the storage system. Range is 5 to 720 (min). Specify only when start-output_stop is 1.
The command prompt is displayed when the command is finished without any errors.
Finish the command prompt.
