Installation Notes

This version of the Hitachi Remote Ops Service Processor Agent supports the following Hitachi Vantara storage products, so long as they run the supported Windows OS versions:

Virtual Storage Platform 5600/5500/5500H/5200/5100
Virtual Storage Platform F/G 800/600/400/200/100 (VSP F/G 800/600/400/200/100)
Virtual Storage Platform F/G 1500/1000 (VSP F/G 1500/1000)
Hitachi Unified Storage VM (HUS VM)
Virtual Storage Platform (VSP)

Please Note: Install Hitachi Remote Ops Monitor Agent 8.1 or later to monitor VSP F/G 900/700/370/350/130 systems.

Hitachi Remote Ops Service Processor Agent versions C.E and onward use Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6, which supports the following Windows OS versions:

Installing the Hitachi Remote Ops Service Processor Agent

You can install the Hitachi Remote Ops Service Processor Agent in one of two ways:

Installing from Removable Media

Installing Remotely

Configuration

For detailed step-by-step installation instructions and explanations, see the User Guide in the root directory of the installation media. After installation, the User Guide will be available through both the Start Menu and via the Help button in the Service Manager.

These directions are for the simplest and most common configuration � a single system functioning as both a Service Processor Agent and Site Manager. For other configurations, see the User Guide.

Notes About the Installation Environment and Best Practices

[1] Full Hitachi Remote Ops Service Processor Agent functionality requires use of the following TCP ports:

[2] When upgrading the application, we recommend that you install the latest version on both the Site Manager and on all systems.

[3] The application settings from the prior version are always preserved during an upgrade.

[4] On new installations, Remote Ops polling and the Web Interface are enabled by default. Both can be disabled or further configured in the Service Manager. Refer to the User Guide to do so.
