To install DAMP1 Version 3.50 on a Windows based machine do the following: 1. Install JRE 1.1.8. Just double-click on JRE-1_1_8_006-WIN-I.EXE in the DAMP\GUI (Version 3.50) directory. 2. Now install DAMP1 by double-clicking on SETUP.EXE in the DAMP\GUI (Version 3.50)\GUI directory. To install DAMP2 Version 5.30 on a Windows based machine do the following: 1. Install JRE 1.2.2 by double-clicking on JRE-1_2_2_008-WIN-I.EXE in the DAMP\GUI2 (Version 5.30) directory. 2. Now install DAMP2 by double-clicking on SETUP.EXE in the DAMP\GUI2 (Version 5.30)\GUI2 directory. The JAVA Run Time Environments install in different directories and are not in each other way. With the 5.30 version of DAMP2 it seems that support for DF400 is only available through DAMP1. For this reason both versions must be installed and through the DAMP2 GUI the DF400 module from DAMP1 can be used. When DAMP2 runs and part of the screen looks garbeled there seem to be 2 temporary fixes: a. In the control panel/display/setting window switch to a different color-depth setting and back. b. In the control panel/display/setting/advanced/performance window set hardware acceleration to none.
