ENTITYTRAP_1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.219.2.10.13 hwBrdTempAlarm

Description

ENTITYTRAP/1/ENTITYBRDTEMPALARM:OID [OID] Temperature rise over or fall below the warning alarm threshold.(Index=[INTEGER],EntryPhysicalIndex=[INTEGER], PhysicalName="[OCTET]", EntityThresholdType=[INTEGER],EntityThresholdValue=[INTEGER],EntityThresholdCurrent=[INTEGER], EntityTrapFaultID=[INTEGER])

The temperature exceeds the upper threshold or falls below the lower threshold. (You can run the display temperature command to view the alarm threshold.)

Attribute

Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type
1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.219.2.10.13 Critical environmentalAlarm (6)

Parameters

Name Meaning
OID Indicates the ID of a MIB object.
Index Indicates the index of a temperature sensor.
EntryPhysicalIndex Indicates the sub-index of an entity.
PhysicalName Indicates the entity name.
EntityThresholdType
  • 1: rise over
  • 2: fall below
Indicates the alarm type.
EntityThresholdValue Indicates the alarm threshold.
EntityThresholdCurrent Indicates the current temperature.
EntityTrapFaultID Indicates the alarm reason ID.

Impact on the System

Services on the cards may be affected if the temperature becomes too high.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: The device is not ventilated well (for example, the air filter is blocked), which causes heat unable to be dissipated.

Cause 2: The ambient temperature is high.

Cause 3: One or more fans in the device have failed.
NOTE:

The AC6508, AC6507S, AirEngine9700S-S, and ACU2 do not have a fan. Check the chassis fans or environment temperature.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the air filter of fans is blocked.
    1. If so, clean the air filter or remove the blockage. After the device runs for a period, go to 4.
    2. If not, go to 2.
  2. Check whether the ambient temperature is too high.
    1. If so, lower the ambient temperature and go to 4.
    2. If not, go to 3.
  3. Run the display fan command to check the fan state and rotation speed. Check whether the fan is faulty.
    1. If so, rectify the fan fault or replace the fan. Then, go to 4.
    2. If not, go to 5.
  4. Run the display temperature all command to check the device temperature.
    1. If the temperature is normal, go to 6.
    2. If the temperature is abnormal, go to 5.
  5. Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
  6. If the alarm is cleared, no further action is required.
