Description

POE/4/PDINVALIDCLASS: OID [oid] PD with invliad IEEE class and power denied.(IfIndex=[INTEGER], Interface="[OCTET]")

The system detects that the PD class is invalid and does not provide power for PDs.

Impact on the System

Services are not affected.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: The PD may not comply with standards, whereas the switch supports 802.3af and 802.3at. In this case, the PD class cannot be identified by the switch.

Cause 2: The PD hardware is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Run the poe legacy enable command on the interface to enable compatibility detection. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, go to step 3.
    • If not, go to step 2.

  2. Replace the PD complying with standards.
  3. End.
