DHCP/2/REQUESTNOTRUST: OID [OID] The number of the discarded DHCP request packets exceeds the threshold on the interface because the DHCP snooping trust port is not configured or the trust port is Down. (IfIndex=[INTEGER], VlanIndex=[INTEGER], Interface=[OCTET], VlanID=[INTEGER], DiscardedNumber=[INTEGER])

The number of discarded DHCP packets exceeds the threshold because no DHCP snooping-trusted interface is configured or the trusted interface goes Down.

Impact on the System

Users fail to obtain IP addresses through DHCP.

Possible Causes

  • No DHCP snooping-trusted interface is configured.
  • The DHCP snooping-trusted interface is Down.

Procedure

  1. To prevent this alarm from being triggered when a DHCPv4 request packet is received, run the undo dhcp snooping enable ipv4 command in the system view to disable processing of DHCPv4 packets.
  2. On the device that has DHCP snooping enabled, configure a DHCP snooping-trusted interface as needed and ensure that the interface is Up.
