Description

SW_SNPG/4/GLBCNTEXCEED:OID [OID] Exceed the count limit on multicast groups.(ConfiguredValue=[INTEGER], CurrentMulticastGroup=[IPADDR])

Layer 2 multicast CAC detects that the number of global multicast groups exceeds the configured value.

Parameters

Name Meaning

OID

ID of a MIB object.

ConfiguredValue

Configured value for the maximum number of global multicast groups.

CurrentMulticastGroup

IP address of the current multicast group.

Impact on the System

New multicast data cannot be forwarded, and thus some users may fail to join the channel.

Possible Causes

New multicast groups intended to join the channel when the number of global multicast groups reached or exceeded the configured value.

Procedure

  1. Run the display igmp-snooping global-cac command to check whether the configured value for the maximum number of global multicast groups is smaller than or equal to the statistical value.

    • If so, go to Step 2.

    • If not, go to Step 4.

  2. Check whether the configured value for the maximum number of global multicast groups is too small.

    • If so, go to Step 3.

    • If not, go to Step 4.

  3. If the requirement of applications is met, run the igmp-snooping max-user command to configure a large value for the maximum number of global multicast groups. Check whether the alarm persists.

    • If so, go to Step 4.

    • If not, go to Step 5.

  4. Collect trap and configuration information, and contact Huawei technical support personnel.
  5. End.
