Importing Zones in a Batch

Procedure

1. Choose Defense > Policy Settings > Zone.
2. Click .

   

3. Import the file to the ATIC Management center.
   1. On the Import Zone page, click Browse....
   2. Select the local file for import and click OK.

      Zone information of the imported file is displayed in the Zone list.

   NOTE:

   The file to be imported must be an XML file exported from the ATIC. The values of elements in the file can be changed, but the file structure cannot. The data of one device can be imported each time.

   When importing an XML file, if the configuration of the device associated with the Zone in the ATIC database is different from the XML file, the different device configuration remains unchanged.

   If the global configuration in the XML file to be imported conflicts with the configuration of an existing device, the global configuration in the XML file will take effect.

   The XML file contains the following information:

   • Basic information
   • IP address
   • Defense mode
   • Filter
   • Defense policy
   • Location policy

   The Basic information, IP address, Defense mode, Location, and Filter configurations are the same for the devices associated with the same Zone. They are the global configurations. Defense policy is associated with devices. Since a Zone is associated with different devices, the defense policy configurations are different. Therefore, Defense policy is exclusive configuration.

   The device configuration on the ATIC is overridden only when the imported XML file contains both the Zone and device information. Otherwise, only the global configurations are overridden.

   The following example illustrates the implementation rules for importing a XML file.

   For example, Zone dzone is associated to AntiDDoS devices A and B and an XML file is imported through the Choose Defense > Policy Settings > Zone. Then, when another XML file is imported:

   • If AntiDDoS device A or B is not selected when the XML file of dzone is exported, the exported XML file does not contain the configurations of the associated devices, but contains only the global configuration. When another XML file is imported, if the configuration in the XML file conflicts with the global configuration of device A or B on the ATIC, the configuration in the XML file will override the configuration of device A or B on the ATIC, but the Defense policy configuration will not be overridden.
   • If device A is selected when the XML file of dzone is exported and then another XML file is imported, the configuration in the XML file will override all configuration of device A, but overrides only the global configuration of device B. The Defense policy configuration of device B will not be overridden by the configuration in the XML file.

   When the XML file is imported through the Choose Defense > Policy Settings > Global Policy, the import rules are the same as the preceding rules.
