Configuring Packet Capture Length

The packet capture length is the length of each packet captured by the AntiDDoS. Each AntiDDoS is configured with only one packet capture length, which applies to all capture tasks on the AntiDDoS.

Context

NOTE:
When packets are captured in their full length or in a specified length, the log header information and encryption check field are added to the reported packet capture log. As a result, the actually captured packet length is smaller than the packet length. For example, if the packet length is 1500 bytes, the captured packet length is only 1330 bytes (the actual length varies according to the version).

Procedure

  1. Choose Defense > Policy Settings > Global Policy
  2. Click in the Operation column.
  3. Choose one method from Configure Packet Capture Length.

    NOTE:
After you select All in the packet capture feature, every complete data packet that matches the packet capture policy is captured, which occupies certain system resources. Therefore, you are advised to enable this function only in locating attacks of unknown types.

  4. Click Deploy to deliver configurations to the device.
  5. In the Deploy dialog box, display the deployment progress. After the deployment is complete, the dialog box closes automatically.

    • If the deployment succeeds, Deployment of the Zone is displayed as Deploy Succeed.

    • If the deployment fails, Deployment of the device is displayed as Deploy Failed.

Follow-up Procedure

Choose Defense > Policy Settings > Global Policy, select the check box of the device and click to save configurations to the configuration file of the device to avoid data loss.
