Creating a Syslog-linkage Device

When the syslog-linkage device works as a detecting device, add the syslog-linkage device to the ATIC management center.

Prerequisites

  • The IP address of the syslog-linkage device is known.
  • The ATIC can communicate with the syslog-linkage device. The syslog-linkage device can be accessed by the administrator over the network and can be pinged from the ATIC.

    If the device cannot be pinged, the "Network is unreachable" message is displayed during device creation.

Context

The syslog-linkage device analyzes traffic and sends logs to the ATIC management center. After analyzing anomaly logs reported by the syslog-linkage device, the ATIC management center generates a traffic diversion task and delivers it to the cleaning device in the same defense group.

Procedure

  1. Choose Defense > Network Settings > Devices.
  2. Click .
  3. In the Basic Information group box, set the name and IP address of a device and select Syslog-linkage Device for Device Type.

    UDP is used to receive syslogs. UDP is not a secure protocol.



  4. Click OK.
