Syslog Server

This section describes how to configure the log server.

Procedure

  1. Choose System > Notification Server > Syslog Server.
  2. Set basic information of the log server.
    1. Click in the Email Server area.
    2. Set basic parameters of the log server. For details, see Table 1.

      NOTE:

      Using UDP brings security risks. You are advised to use TCP (TLSV1.2).

      Certificate file

      This file stores certificate files and public keys.

      Supported only by TCP.

      Click Browse to upload the certificate. Before setting this parameter, obtain the certificate from the log server.

      NOTE:

      To ensure that the log server can properly forward logs after it is created, you must set this parameter.

      Keystore Password

      Supported only by TCP.

      This password is used to open the certificate repository.

      The passwords must meet the minimum complexity requirement. That is, the passwords must contain letters, digits (0 to 9), and special characters (such as !, #, $, and %). You must change the passwords periodically.

      Server IP

      IP address of the log server.

      -

      Server port

      Port of the log server.

      • If TCP is used, the default value is 6514.
      • If UDP is used, the default value is 514.
      NOTE:

      Using UDP brings security risks. You are advised to use TCP (TLSV1.2).

      Default Zone Log

      • Transmit
      • Not Transmit

      -

      Transmit syslog type

      Type and level of logs to be transmitted.
