Configure Rate Limit

The interface-based rate limit function is used to limit the rate of outgoing traffic or incoming traffic on a physical interface.

Context

Before sending traffic from an interface, you can configure rate limit on the interface in the outbound direction. This function controls all outgoing packets.

Before sending traffic from an interface, you can configure rate limit on the interface in the inbound direction. This function controls all incoming packets.

Procedure

  1. Choose QoS > Limit Rate. The Limit Rate page is displayed.
  2. Select the interface on which the rate limit needs to be set and click Configure. The Configure Rate Limit page is displayed

    Table 1 describes the parameters on the Configure Rate Limit page.

    Parameter

    Description

    Interface Name

    Name of the interface on which rate limit needs to be configured. You can select multiple interfaces.

    Inbound

    CIR

    Indicates the CIR in the inbound direction.

    CBS

    Indicates the CBS in the inbound direction.

    Outbound

    CIR

    Indicates the CIR in the outbound direction.

    CBS

    Indicates the CBS in the outbound direction.

  3. Click Inbound or Outbound and set the values of CIR and CBS.
  4. Click OK to complete the configuration.
