Patch

The following sections describe how to run and uninstall patches.

Context

  • A patch is a kind of software compatible with the system software. It is used to remove critical bugs of the system software. A patch file can contain a maximum of 20 patches. The extension name of the patch file is .pat.
  • Before installing patches, you need to save patch files to the flash memory of the switch. Patch files are loaded to the switch using HTTP.
  • After the patch is uninstalled, the patch is deleted from the memory.

Procedure

  1. Choose System Management > Patch to open the Patch page.

    Table 1 describes the parameters on the Patch page.

    Patch Information

    Information about patches is displayed on the page, including:
    • Patches that have been loaded
    • Patch version
    • Running status of the patch

    Upload Patch

    Select patch file to upload. The file is a string without spaces. The file name extension is .pat.

    Load Patch

    Select the patch file to load.

    Uninstall Patch

    Click the button to uninstall the running patch file.

  2. If the patch has not been uploaded, set parameters in the Upload Patch area and click OK. You can view the name of the uploaded patch from the Load Patch drop-down list box.
  3. Select the patch that you want to load from the Load Patch drop-down list box. Click Apply. The system displays a message in Patch Information, showing the loaded patch files.
  4. Click Uninstall Patch. The system asks you whether to uninstall the patch.
  5. After the patch is deleted, The system displays a message indicating whether the patch is uninstalled successfully.
