Procedure

  1. Label and disconnect all power cables and signal cables.
  2. Remove the front panel cover.

Press the release button on the right of the front panel cover, tilt the front panel cover by 20° to 30° forward, and move the front panel cover rightward to separate it from the groove on the left of the system subrack. Then, remove the front panel cover. See (1), (2), and (3) in Figure 1.

  3. Remove the storage device.

Loosen the two captive screws on the panel. See (1) in Figure 2. Pull out the storage device along the guide rails away from the cabinet and place it on the ESD table. See (2) in Figure 2.

  4. Remove the node cover.

    1. Loosen the three screws and push the node cover backwards to unlock it. See (1) and (2) in Figure 3.
Figure 3 Removing screws from the node cover
    2. Remove the node cover upwards. The locking spring rods of the node eject automatically. See (1) and (2) in Figure 4.

  5. Remove a power adapter module.

Press the release button on the power adapter module, and pull out the power adapter module along the guide rails by holding the handle. See (1) and (2) in Figure 5.

  6. Remove a PSU bracket.

Loosen the four captive screws that secure the PSU support, and lift the PSU support. See Figure 6.

  8. Remove the M.2 SSD module.

Press the latch that secures the disk module, tilt the disk module upwards by 20° to 30°, and remove the disk module. See (1) and (2) in Figure 8.

  9. Put the removed M.2 SSD module into an ESD bag.
  10. Take the replacement M.2 SSD module out of its ESD bag.
  11. Install the replacement M.2 SSD module.

Tilt the disk module 20° to 30° and insert it into the node slot. Press the latch that secures the disk module, and press the disk module until it is secured to the latch. See (1) and (2) in Figure 9.

  12. Install the two DIMMs near the M.2 SSD module.

    1. Open the two fixing clips on the DIMM slot simultaneously. See Figure 10.
Figure 10 Opening fixing clips on a DIMM slot
    2. Align the DIMM with the DIMM slot, and insert the DIMM into the slot. See Figure 11. Press the DIMM downwards till the two fixing clips close automatically.

  13. Install the PSU bracket.

Install the PSU bracket downwards to the node, and secure the PSU bracket using four captive screws. See Figure 12.

  14. Install a power adapter module.

Keep the TOP of the power adapter module facing upwards, and insert the power adapter module along the guide rails of the power support until the power adapter module is locked and cannot move. See Figure 13.

  15. Install the node cover.

    1. Place the latches of the node cover into the slots and align the node cover with the node. Press the rear of the node with both hands and push the cover inward until it cannot move. See Figure 14.

When installing a node cover, use both hands to press down the spring rods at the rear of the node and push them inwards to ensure that the node cover is securely installed.

  16. Install a storage device.

    1. Arrange for at least two persons to horizontally lift the storage device from both sides.
    2. Place the storage device on the guide rails and push it into the cabinet. See (1) in Figure 16.

    1. Align the mounting ears of the storage device with the mounting bars, and tighten the captive screws on the mounting ears in clockwise direction. See (2) in Figure 16.

  17. Install the front panel cover.

Align the latch on the left of the front panel cover with the groove on the left of the system subrack, and push the right of the front panel cover forward until you hear a click. Ensure that the front panel cover is fully secured to the system subrack. See (1) and (2) in Figure 17.
