Checking the UltraPath Status

0xF00150019 No Redundant Link Between the Host and a Storage Array

  1. Check whether the host is connected to only one controller of the storage array through cables.

    • If yes, connect the host to multiple controllers. If the alarm persists, go to step 2.
    • If no, go to step 2.

  2. On the CLI, run the show initiator command to check whether the WWN of the initiator and the Host ID are consistent with the actual condition.

    NOTE:
    The preceding figure shows that both initiators are added to the host and correctly configured in a dual-controller scenario.
    • If yes, go to step 4.
    • If no, go to step 3.

  3. On the CLI, run the show initiator command to check whether only some of the initiators are in the host.

    NOTE:
    The preceding figure shows that the WWN of the initiators is inconsistent with the Host ID and one initiator is not added to the host whose Host ID is 0.
    • If yes, run the add host initiator host_id=0 initiator_type=FC wwn=100000053326e259 command to add the remaining initiators to the host. Then, go to step 4.

      NOTE:
      The preceding figure shows how to run the add host initiator host_id=0 initiator_type=FC wwn=100000053326e259 command to add remaining initiators to the host on the CLI.
    • If no, go to step 5.

  4. Scan for disks on the host and confirm that the number of detected disks is correct. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 5.

  5. Collect related information and contact technical support engineers.

0xF0015001A A Link Fault Between the Host and a Storage Array

  1. Check whether any cable connected between the host and the storage array is removed.

    • If yes, reconnect the cable. If the alarm persists, go to step 2.
    • If no, go to step 2.

  2. Replace the faulty cable.
  3. Check whether an alarm is displayed indicating that the optical module is faulty (ID of the alarm indicating that the optical module inserted into a host port is faulty: 0xF0EA0003; ID of the alarm indicating that the optical module inserted into a switch port is faulty: 0xF01050022).

    • If yes, clear the alarm with recommended actions. If the alarm persists, go to step 4.
    • If no, go to step 4.

  4. Check whether an alarm is displayed indicating that a port is faulty (ID of the alarm indicating that the host port is faulty: 0xF0060005; ID of the alarm indicating that the switch port is faulty: 0xF0105001F).

    • If yes, clear the alarm with recommended actions. If the alarm persists, go to step 5.
    • If no, go to step 5.

  5. Check whether an alarm is displayed indicating that an interface module is faulty (ID of the alarm indicating that the interface module is faulty: 0xF0D10006; ID of the alarm indicating that the interface module is removed: 0xF0D10005).

    • If yes, clear the alarm with recommended actions. If the alarm persists, go to step 6.
    • If no, go to step 6.

  6. Check whether an alarm is displayed indicating that a controller is faulty.

    For details about how to view an alarm on the DeviceManager, see Checking System Alarms.

    • If yes, clear the alarm with recommended actions. If the alarm persists, go to step 7.
    • If no, go to step 7.

  7. Check whether the host bus adapter (HBA) is faulty.

    • If yes, contact the HBA provider for help.
    • If no, go to step 8.

  8. Check whether the switch is faulty.

    • If yes, contact the switch provider for help.
    • If no, go to step 9.

  9. Collect related information and contact technical support engineers.

0xF0015001B An Unstable Link Between the Host and a Storage Array

  1. Check whether any cable between the host and the storage array is improperly connected.

    • If yes, reconnect the cable. If the alarm persists, go to step 2.
    • If no, go to step 2.

  2. Replace the faulty cable.
  3. Check whether an alarm is displayed indicating that the optical module is faulty (ID of the alarm indicating that the optical module inserted into a host port is faulty: 0xF0EA0003; ID of the alarm indicating that the optical module inserted into a switch port is faulty: 0xF01050022).

    • If yes, clear the alarm with recommended actions. If the alarm persists, go to step 4.
    • If no, go to step 4.

  4. Check whether an alarm is displayed indicating that a port is faulty (ID of the alarm indicating that the optical module inserted into a host port is faulty: 0xF0060005; ID of the alarm indicating that the optical module inserted into a switch port is faulty: 0xF0105001F ).

    • If yes, clear the alarm with recommended actions. If the alarm persists, go to step 5.
    • If no, go to step 5.

  5. Check whether the HBA is faulty.

    • If yes, contact the HBA provider for help.
    • If no, go to step 6.

  6. Check whether the switch is faulty.

    • If yes, contact the switch provider for help.
    • If no, go to step 7.

  7. Collect related information and contact technical support engineers.

0xF0015001C UltraPath Not Installed or Outdated UltraPath Installed on the Host(This alarm is only present in the OceanStor 18000 V100R001 C00 or OceanStor T V200R002 C00 version.)

  1. Check whether UltraPath is installed on the host

    • If yes, go to step 2.
    • If no, install UltraPath on the host. If the alarm persists, go to step 2.

  2. Check whether UltraPath of the latest version is installed on the host.

    • If yes, go to step 3.
    • If no, install UltraPath of the latest version on the host. If the alarm persists, go to step 3.

  3. Collect related information and contact technical support engineers.

0xF0015001D UltraPath on the Host Incompatible with Disk Array Software

  1. Check whether the storage array is compatible with the UltraPath.

    • If yes, go to step 2.
    • If no, upgrade the storage array or the UltraPath to a compatible version. If the alarm persists, go to step 2.
