Checking Bit Errors

Checking ETH, SAS, FCoE and PCIe Bit Errors

  1. Replace the cable. Check ETH, SAS, FCoE and PCIe Bit errors again to determine whether the check is passed.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 2.

  2. Replace the interface module where the port resides and the interface module where the peer port resides in sequence. Perform the check again to determine whether the check is passed.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 3.

  3. If you have any questions, contact Huawei technical support engineers.

Checking Fiber Channel Bit Errors

  1. Replace the cable. Check fiber channel bit errors again to determine whether the check is passed.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 2.

  2. Check whether an optical module is inserted into the port.

    • If yes, go to step 3.
    • If no, go to step 4.

  3. Replace the optical module of the port and the optical module of the peer port in sequence. Perform the check again to determine whether the check is passed.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 4.

  4. Replace the interface module where the port resides and the interface module where the peer port resides in sequence. Perform the check again to determine whether the check is passed.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 5.
