Hot Patch Check Before Upgrade

Solution 1: Use the ISM to install the hot patch

This solution applies to hot patch installation of all versions.
  1. Log in to the CLI as user admin. Run showupgradepkginfo -t 1 command to confirm the system version.

    The above figure shows that the version is V100R002C00SPC015.

  2. Download the hot patch and Patch Installation Guide through the corresponding link in Table 1.

  3. Run the showupgradepkginfo -t 3 command to get system hot patch version.

    The above figure shows that the system has the V100R002C00SPHf02 patch installed.

  4. On the Patch Management page, click Rollback to uninstall the original hot patch in the system. The following table Table 2 describes the patches that need to be uninstalled. Other patches cannot be uninstalled.

    The implementation principle of the original and new hot patch is different. Therefore, the new hot patch can be installed only after the original hot patch is uninstalled. The new hot patch can resolve all issues that are resolved in the original patch.

  5. On the Patch Management page, click Upload to upload the new patch package. After the new patch package is uploaded, click Activate to activate the patch package. The new patch installation is complete.

Solution 2: Install the hot patch using the patch tool in the Toolkit

This solution applies only to V100R002C00SPC011 or later.
  1. Refer to 1 to confirm the system version number.
  2. Refer to 2 to download the corresponding hot patch.
  3. Install the hot patch using the patch tool in the Toolkit.
    1. Place the hot patch packages (.tgz) of all devices in the same directory. The patch tool can automatically identify the hot patch packages.

    2. Select the Patch Tool.

    3. Click Add Device.

    4. Select the desired devices and click Next.

    5. Select Automatic Patches are installed based on the automatic match result and click Next.

      If you need to install hot patches for only one device, you can select Manual Select patch packages and install patches on devices. Then, select the hot patch package.



    6. Click Browse to select the directory for storing the hot patch packages, click Save, and click Finish. The patch tool automatically matches the hot patch packages.

    7. When Status displays Associated, click Start.

      If Status displays Unassociated, click Detail to manually select the hot patch package and then click Start.

    8. Wait for approximately 10 minutes until the hot patch installation is complete. View Current Patch Version to verify that the patch has been installed successfully.

    9. Click the Close in the upper-right corner to close the patch tool window.
