RAID Group Spindown Status

Context

If the system has any disk in sleep state, the disk will automatically wake up during the upgrade and the upgrade will fail due to timeout. Users can select Forbid Spin-down on the ISM to rectify the fault.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Set Spin-down dialog box.
    1. In the navigation tree, choose Storage Resources > Block Storage Pools.
    2. Select the RAID group where you want to configure disk spin-down and choose Advanced > Set Spin-down.

    The Set Spin-down dialog box is displayed.

    NOTE:

    The current spin-down status of the RAID group is shown at the top of the Set Spin-down dialog box.

  2. For a hibernating RAID group, select Forbidden to restore the disk to normal status in the Set Spin-down dialog box.
  3. Click OK.

    Spin-down for the RAID group is set.
