This section describes how to check and modify configuration of the "discarding gratuitous ARP packets" function on Huawei switches in NAS scenarios. The following uses Huawei CE6850-48S4Q-EI switches as an example.
Upgrade Requirements
When Huawei switches are interconnected in the network, you need to disable the "discarding gratuitous ARP packets" function on Huawei switches before performing an online upgrade.
Procedure
- Go to the command-line interface (CLI) and run the following command to check whether the "discarding gratuitous ARP packets" function is enabled on the switches:
display current-configuration
Check whether arp anti-attack gratuitous-arp drop is displayed in the command output. If yes, the "discarding gratuitous ARP packets" function is enabled on the switches. Otherwise, the function is disabled.
- If the "discarding gratuitous ARP packets" function is enabled on the switches, an online upgrade cannot be performed.
Suggestions
If the "discarding gratuitous ARP packets" function is enabled on the switches, contact technical support engineers to evaluate the impact of modification and then perform the following operations:
- Run the following command to go to the system-view view:
system-view
- Run the following command to disable the "discarding gratuitous ARP packets" function:
undo arp anti-attack gratuitous-arp drop
- Run the following command to exit the system-view view:
quit
- Run the following command to save the configuration:
save
