Checking the Status of a Remote Replication

Procedure

  1. Check whether an alarm (ID: 0xF0E10001) is displayed indicating that a link between storage arrays is faulty.

    For details about how to view an alarm on the DeviceManager, see Checking System Alarms.

    • If yes, go to step 2.
    • If no, go to step 3.

  2. Clear the link fault alarm with recommended actions. Check whether Health Status of the remote replication is Normal.

    • For OceanStor 18500 V3&18800 V3 and OceanStor 2200 V3&2600 V3&5300 V3&5500 V3&5600 V3&5800 V3&6800 V3 storage system， run the show remote_replication unified command on the CLI to check whether the Health Status of the remote replication is Normal.
    • For OceanStor OceanStor Dorado5000 V3&Dorado6000 V3 storage system, run the show remote_replication general command on the CLI to check whether the Health Status of the remote replication is Normal.
    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 3.

  3. Check whether the storage pool where the primary and secondary resources reside is faulty.

    NOTE:
    • For OceanStor 2600 V3&5300 V3&5500 V3&5600 V3&5800 V3&6800 V3 storage system, primary and secondary resources refer to primary and secondary LUNs or file systems.
    • For OceanStor 18500 V3&18800 V3 storage system, primary and secondary resources refer to primary and secondary LUNs or file systems.
    • For OceanStor 2200 V3 storage system, primary and secondary resources refer to primary and secondary LUNs.

    On the CLI, run the show storage_pool general command to check whether Health Status is Fault.

    • If yes, go to step 4.
    • If no, go to step 5.

  4. Clear the storage pool fault alarm with recommended actions. Check whether Health Status of the remote replication is Normal.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 5.

  5. Check whether the primary and the secondary resources are in normal state.

    • If yes, go to step 6.
    • If no, go to step 7.

  6. Repair resource objects. Check whether Health Status of the remote replication is Normal.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 7.

  7. Collect related information and contact technical support engineers.
