Checking an iSCSI Port

Procedure

  1. Replace the faulty cable. Perform the check again to determine whether the check is passed.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 2.

  2. Check whether optical modules exist on the port.

    • If yes, go to step 3.
    • If no, go to step 4.

  3. Replace the optical module of the port and the optical module of the peer port in sequence. Perform the check again to determine whether the check is passed.

    NOTE:
For details about how to replace an optical module
    • 18500 V3&18800 V3, see section Replacing an Optical Module in the OceanStor 18500 V3&18800 V3 Mission Critical Storage System V300R003 Product Documentation .
    • 2200 V3&2600 V3&5300 V3&5500 V3&5600 V3&5800 V3&6800 V3 , see section Replacing an Optical Module in the OceanStor 5300 V3&5500 V3&5600 V3&5800 V3&6800 V3 Storage System V300R003 Product Documentation or OceanStor 2200 V3&2600 V3 Storage System V300R005 Product Documentation. The method used to replace optical module is the same for V300R003 and V300R005. V300R003 is used as an example to describe how to replace an optical module, see Replacing an Optical Module.
    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 4.

  4. Replace the interface module where the port resides and the interface module where the peer port resides in sequence. Perform the check again to determine whether the check is passed.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 5.

  5. Check whether the port rate of the peer-end device (a switch or a host) is 1000 Mbit/s or 10 Gbit/s. If the rate is not one of them, clear the fault of the peer-end device. Perform the check again to determine whether the check is passed.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to step 6.

  6. Collect related information and contact technical support engineers.
