Checking Whether a Disk Has Only One Link

Prerequisites

  • A replacement component is ready.
  • The component that you want to replace has been located.
    NOTE:
    You can locate components in either of the following ways:
    • On the device view of the management software, view and record the location of the component that you want to replace. For components that have location indicators, turn on the location indicators (for details, see the online help of the management software).
    • Locate the faulty component based on the alarm indicator.
  • Cables connected to the interface module that you want to replace are labeled with the corresponding port IDs.

Precautions

Use care when you remove and insert an interface module to avoid any damage to the appearance or connectors of the interface module.

Procedure

  1. Replace the faulty disk.

    NOTE:
    For details about how to replace a disk module
    • 18500 V3&18800 V3, see section Replacing a Disk Module in the OceanStor 18500 V3&18800 V3 Product Documentation. The method used to replace disk modules is the same for V300R003 and V300R005. V300R003 is used as an example to describe how to replace a disk, see Replacing a Disk Module (24-Slot) and Replacing a Disk Module (25-Slot).
    • 2200 V3&2600 V3&5300 V3&5500 V3&5600 V3&5800 V3&6800 V3, see section Replacing a Disk Module in the OceanStor 5300 V3&5500 V3&5600 V3&5800 V3&6800 V3 Product Documentation or OceanStor 2200 V3&2600 V3&5300 V3&5500 V3&5600 V3&5800 V3&6800 V3 Product Documentation.     Then log in to the DeviceManager to check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes=>no further action is required.
    • If no=>2.

  2. Replace the interface module.
