Managing Administrators

The system provides the default administrator admin. The default administrator has all permissions, can manage all NEs, and can log in the eReplication from any IP address. To implement permission/domain-specific management of the OceanStor BCManager, you can create administrators and modify, lock, unlock, or delete them. SyncAdmin user is used for the eReplication HA component reports alarms, and cannot be used by a third-party system or to log in to eReplication for system maintenance, you can modify, lock, unlock, or delete SyncAdmin as admin user.

Context

  1. On the menu bar, select Settings.
  2. In the navigation tree, choose System Administrators > Administrators.
  3. Set related information about system administrators by referring to the following table.

    Operation

    Description

    Create

    Click Create to create an administrator. For details about this operation, see Managing Administrators.

    Modify

    Select the modified administrator and click Modify on the Operation list corresponding to the administrator to modify its information. For details about this operation, see Modifying an Administrator.

    Reset Password

    Select the rested administrator and click More > Reset Password on the Operation list. Corresponding to the administrator to modify its password.

    Delete

    Select the deleted administrator and click More > Delete on the Operation list. Corresponding to the administrator to delete it.

    View

    Click the user name of an administrator to view its description, associated administrator group, managed NEs, and allowed IP address segment.

    Lock

    To restrict the login of an administrator to the eReplication, select the administrator and click More > Lock on the Operation list. To lock the administrator. The admin account automatically locks other users. The locked users cannot log in to eReplication. Two lock approaches are available:

    • Automatic lock: After Incorrect password lock and Allowed attempts are set, if the number of consecutive password attempts made by a user reaches allowed attempts, the user will be automatically locked. For details, see Configuring a Security Policy for Administrators.
    • Manual lock: The administrator that has lock permissions can manually lock users. The locked users can log in to the system only when they are manually unlocked by the administrator that has lock permissions.

    Unlock

    Select the locked administrator and click More > Unlock on the Operation list. To unlock the administrator. Two unlock approaches are available:

    • Automatic unlock: If lock time is set in the password policy, the system will automatically unlock users when the lock time ends.
    • Manual unlock: When users cannot be automatically unlocked, the administrator that has unlock permissions can manually unlock the users.
