Functions (such as data replication) provided by storage devices are used by eReplication to perform data protection and disaster recovery (DR) jobs. Before creating protected groups, you need to add storage devices.
If BCManager storage devices have been added to the Air Gap isolation area of the secondary end, BCManager storage devices cannot be added to the primary end.
The scenarios of adding storage devices are described in the following Table The scenarios of adding storage devices.
Protected Object |
Description |
|---|---|
LUN,NAS File System |
Adds associated storage devices. |
One storage device can be added only to one site on eReplication.

Parameter |
Description |
Value |
|---|---|---|
IP Address |
Management IPv4 or IPv6 address of the storage device. |
[Example] 192.168.10.11 |
Port |
Communication port of the storage device.
|
|
Username |
User name for logging in to the storage device. |
It can be obtained from the storage device administrator. NOTE:
After the password of a storage device is changed, eReplication continuously accesses the storage device. As a result, the storage account is locked. You are advised to create a user only for accessing eReplication on the storage device. The user must have administrator rights and the password never expires. Dorado V3 is used as an example. For details, see Setting User Passwords to Never Expire. |
Password |
Password of the storage device. |
It can be obtained from the storage device administrator. |
After storage devices are added, you can refresh, modify, and delete information about storage devices. For details about related operations, see Table 3.
Operation |
Prerequisite and Result |
|---|---|
In the row where the storage device resides, click Refresh on the Operation list. |
eReplication automatically refreshes information about added storage devices every 12 hours to ensure the information on eReplication is consistent with the actual information. If storage device information is modified, you need to refresh the information in eReplication immediately. |
In the row where the storage device resides, click More > Modify on the Operation list. |
Modify the name of the storage device. |
In the row where the storage device resides, click More > Delete on the Operation list. |
Delete unnecessary storage devices from the site. |
In the row where the storage device resides, click More > Device Management on the Operation list. |
Go to the device management page. For details about device management, see OceanStor 2000 2000F 5000 5000F 6000 V3 V300R006 Administrator Guide. |
After the storage device is added successfully, a security port group is automatically generated, a network time window is generated based on the remote device, ports associated with FC links and IP links are disabled, and the default time window of ports is set to 00:00 to 00:00.
