After a test is complete, you need to delete the test data generated on the disaster recovery (DR) system and restore the DR environment to facilitate future DR or planned migration.
Prerequisites
- You have logged in to the eReplication as a user with DR management permission.
- The management system and DR environment at the DR site work correctly.
- At least one recovery plan has been created in the system.
- Before clearing a protected group whose protection type is database, ensure that all database connections at the DR site are disconnected.
- The recovery plan's status is Test completed, Test failed, or Clear failed.
- Programs and files on the file systems have been closed before clearing is performed for protected groups of the file system type.
- If storage devices, hosts or VMs on production site or DR site change, storage devices, hosts or VMs at the site where a protected group resides must be refreshed, for details, refer to Refreshing Resource Information.
For FusionSphere VM protected groups, if a datastore fails to be deleted during test data clearing, check whether non-DR VMs or disks exist on the data store. If VMs or disks are found, remove or delete them.
Procedure
- On the menu bar, select Utilization > Data Restore.
- Select the recovery plan for which you want to clear data and click More > Clear on the Operation list.
- Click OK.
Result
After the clearing starts, you can view the execution process and result. If the clearing fails, solve the problem and clear data again.
