Creating a Cloud Site

To use cloud backup, you need to create a cloud site.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, click Resources.
  2. Creating a site.

    • Method 1: In the navigation tree, select the management server where the sites are to be added, and click Create Site.

    • Method 2: In the navigation tree, select any site, and click .

  3. Configure the site information by referring to Table 1.
  4. Select Cloud Site.

    Site name

    • Contains 4 to 32 characters.
    • Contains letters, digits, underscores (_), and hyphens (-), and cannot start with a hyphen (-).

    AK

    Unique identifier associated with the private access key. The AK and private access key are used together to encrypt the request signature.

    SK

    A key used with an AK to encrypt the request signature. It can identify a request sender and prevent the request from being modified.

    Region

    You are advised to select the nearest region to reduce the network latency and improve the access speed.

    If no area is available, click Region to add a region.

    Northern China-Beijing 1

    Project ID

    ID of the project of the region where the user resides.

    Proxy

    Configure the proxy server to ensure that the network communication is normal.

  5. Select OK.

Follow-up Procedure

After creating a site, you can modify and delete the site information. For details about subsequent operations, see Table Related operations.

Prerequisites or Results

Locate the row where the target site resides, and click Modify in the Operation area. In the displayed Modify Site dialog box, modify the site information.

If the site information is changed, you need to synchronize the latest information to the eReplication system in time to ensure successful running of subsequent DR protection services.

Locate the row where the target site resides, and click Delete in the Operation area. In the Warning dialog box that is displayed, read the message carefully, and select I have read the previous information and understood subsequences of the operation. Click OK.

A site is no longer needed.
