Configuring the Firefox Browser

When you access eReplication in different browsers using HTTPS, browsers may prompt a security certificate problem. This section explains how to install a security certificate.

Context

This section uses Mozilla Firefox 66 as an example.

Procedure

  1. Import the security certificate.

    1. In the address box of Firefox on the maintenance terminal, enter https://IP:httpsport and press Enter.
    2. If This Connection is Untrusted is displayed, choose I Understand the Risks > Add Exception.

    3. In the Add Security Exception dialog box, confirm that the IP address in Location is the one used to log in to the eReplication.
    4. Click View. On the Certificate Viewer page, confirm that the client time is within the validity period. Then click Close.

    5. In the Add Security Exception dialog box, click Confirm Security Exception. The eReplication login page is displayed.

  2. Disable the browser's support for TLS 1.0 and earlier versions.

TLS 1.0 and earlier versions have security vulnerabilities, which may result in device information leakage. Therefore, you are advised to disable the browser's support for TLS 1.0 and earlier versions before logging in to eReplication.

    1. In the address box of Mozilla FireFox 26, enter about:config.
    2. Search for and change security.tls.version.max to 3 and security.tls.version.min to 2.
