To verify the reliability of the DR system, customers usually perform planned DR drills every year or half a year to switch some services in production centers to DR centers. The CDM solution provides the planned migration function for this type of planned switchover.
The difference between the planned migration and DR test lies in that the snapshot at the DR end is not used. Instead, the LUN at the DR end is switched to the readable and writable state and is mounted to the DR host for normal access. This is a planned action. Before performing this operation, the production center is in the normal state. Therefore, the production center starts data synchronization and waits for completion before the switchover to ensure zero data loss when services are provided at the DR end.
