Checking BCManager License Files

The BCManager eReplication software controls the license permission to separate the basic version from advanced version based on the number of hosts or VMs to be added. In the HyperVault DR scenario, before using BCManager eReplication to implement DR protection, ensure that the advanced license of eReplication has been obtained and imported.

Context

If no license is imported, the system provides a 90-day trial period and all DR protection operations can be performed. After the trial period ends, the system automatically becomes the basic version. That is, you cannot view topologies and recovery plans. To ensure that the DR function is normal, import the license of the advanced edition in time.

Procedure

  1. Log in to eReplication as a user with management permissions.
  2. On the menu bar, choose Settings.
  3. In the navigation tree, choose License Management > License Management.
  4. In the information display area on the middle, view information about license files to check whether the license files are imported.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to Step 5.

  5. Click Import and select license files to be activated.

The system automatically checks the format and content of license files. If the check passes, the system automatically activates the imported licenses.

For details about how to apply for licenses, see the OceanStor BCManager 8.2.0 eReplication License Application Guide.

  6. After the license files are imported, check whether they are what you apply for.
  7. Optional: Click Export. You can save the license files locally for easy backup.
