The BCManager eReplication provides a user-friendly GUI to centrally manage DR, backup, and data reuse. By performing simple steps, you can perform operations such as DR test, drill, switchover, copy restore, and copy reuse.
Restoring Data from Backup Copies
In the CDM solution, a large number of backup copies are stored on the local and remote storage devices as required. In the case of logical corruption of data, you can flexibly select backup copies to restore data. The use of snapshot technology frees the system from backup software and allows full recovery with higher efficiency. Recovery from a local backup copy can be completed within seconds.
Reusing Backup Copies
User data increases as businesses grow. The copy reuse function provided by the CDM solution allows users to mining larger value of data directly on DR systems. During copy reuse, level-2 copies are generated based on snapshots and are used for other purposes such as data analysis and test. This does not change the original snapshots. The original snapshots can be used for data recovery. Moreover, changes to snapshots and level-2 snapshot copies do not lead to mutual impact, making operations more flexible.
Viewing the Topology
This section describes how to monitor the disaster recovery (DR) status of the entire network of production and DR sites by viewing the global topology generated by eReplication.
