DR Switchover

When a disaster occurs at the production end, services cannot be recovered in a short period of time and the production stops. As a result, services must be recovered as soon as possible to avoid greater loss. In the CDM solution, data at the DR site can continue to provide services for the production. After users decide to switch services to the DR center, they can implement one-click recovery at the DR center using underlying applications.

When data or applications become unavailable due to disasters or faults in the HyperMetro data centers, the services will be quickly migrated to the DR center and started in it. After fault recovery is performed, the backup policy of the original protected group takes effect only after the services at the DR end is switched to the original production end. Therefore, after the HyperMetro data center is recovered, you need to perform planned migration to switch services back to the HyperMetro data center.

• Migrating Services Upon a Fault Occurring in the HyperMetro Data Center
  If data or applications in the production center become unavailable due to disasters or faults, you must quickly recover the data or applications from the DR center. Before a fault recovery, at least one recovery plan test must be executed successfully. This operation can be performed only on eReplication in the DR center.
• Migrating Services Back to the HyperMetro Data Center
  If a fault occurs in the HyperMetro data center, the fault can be rectified and cannot be rectified based on the original configuration. The corresponding DR switchback operations are different.
