DR Recovery

In Anti-ransomware backup (NAS) scenarios, how to recover data from disaster recovery (DR) site if data the production site becomes unavailable due to disasters or faults.

Prerequisites

Precautions

Backup and restoration is based on the copy granularity. Some snapshots in a copy cannot be backed up and restored.

Context

When the storage resources or protected objects changed in the current time and snapshot copied time. The recovery operation description, see Copy-based Recovery and Risk Handling Measures.

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, select Utilization > Data Restore.
  2. Select the recovery plan that you want to use for data rollback. Then click Backup and Restore in the operation area.

    • The system does not display copies whose ransom detection status is All Infected and --, and copies whose status is Deleting and Invalid.
    • If you select a copy whose ransomware detection status is Partially Infected or Abnormal, only the uninfected snapshot data in the copy will be restored to the primary file system. All copies in other states will be restored to the primary file system.

  4. In the Warning dialog box that is displayed, read the content of the dialog box carefully and select I have read and understood the consequences associated with performing this operation.
  5. Click OK.

The Air Gap anti-ransomware protection takes over only the secondary replication end. During the backup and recovery, the recovered data is synchronized to the primary replication end. You may need to manually process the primary replication end to ensure successful backup and restoration.

Result

After the data rollback starts, you can view the execution process and result. If the task is failed, you can solve the problem and execute the task again.
