You can set different sounds for alarms of different severities. When eReplication receives an alarm, the built-in sound system of clients plays the preset sound to notify users of the alarm.
Context
- The alarm severity can be critical, major, minor, or warning. Sound types available for each alarm severity are Common and Loop.
If the sound is set to Common, the system plays the alarm sound once every 20 seconds. If the sound is set to Loop, the system constantly plays the alarm sound for those alarms that are not cleared and acknowledged. You are advised to set the sound for critical alarms to Common. Otherwise, maintenance personnel may not hear the sound if they are away for a moment.
- After an alarm is acknowledged, the alarm sound is not played any more.
- You are advised not to disable the sound notification function for all severities of alarms, avoiding delayed handling of alarms.
Procedure
- In the navigation tree, choose Monitor > Alarms > Sound Settings.
- Click Modify on the right to set the alarm sound type.
- Select a sound type. The sound type can be None, Common or Loop.
Click
to test the sound of the selected sound file. - Click Save.
Follow-up Procedure
You can click the mute in the upper right corner of eReplication to enable or disable the mute function.
