When the production center encounters a disaster, data of the production center can be recovered from the same-city DR center to reconstruct the production service system.
Prerequisites
- Software and hardware have been installed on production storage for service reconstruction and related license has been obtained.
- The network has been established and is normal between production and DR storage.
- LUNs have been configured on production storage.
- The service system has been deployed in the production center.
Procedure
- Log in to storage arrays in the same-city DR center and create remote synchronous replication for LUNs on storage arrays from the same-city DR center to the production center.
- (Optional) Log in to storage arrays in the production center, and create asynchronous remote replication for LUNs on storage arrays from the production center to the remote DR center.
This operation needs to be performed only when a parallel network is used.
- Re-create DR protected groups and recovery plans on the DR management server in the same-city DR center.
- Test recovery plans and clear data generated during tests on the DR management server in the same-city DR center.
Result
- Reconstruct the production center using data of the same-city DR center.
- If the original network is in cascading mode, synchronous replication is implemented from the same-city DR center (providing services) to the production center, and asynchronous replication is implemented from the same-city DR center to the remote DR center.
- If the original network is in parallel mode, synchronous replication is implemented from the same-city DR center to the production center, and asynchronous replication is implemented from the production center to the remote DR center.
After the data reconstruction, you can perform planned migration to migrate service back to the production center from the same-city DR center.
