Modifying an Administrator

Modifying an administrator includes modifying the authentication mode, password, description, and permission. You can also modify the administrator's domain and permission.

Context

The default administrator admin can be modified only by itself. The password and description can be modified.

If you forget the password of the default administrator admin, contact technical support engineers.

The admin user can modify the password, description and Login Network Segment of the SyncAdmin user.

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, select Settings.
  2. In the navigation tree, choose System Administrator > Administrator.
  3. You can modify the administrator's description, domain, and permission.

    1. Select the modified administrator and click Modify on the Operation list.

      The Modify User dialog box is displayed.

    2. Enable Max. Number of User Connections , the system limits the maximum number of concurrent sessions. After the threshold is exceeded, no more user can log in to eReplication.
      • The value ranges from 1 to 8. If the parameter is not enabled, there is no limit on the number of user connections.
      • Max. Number of User Connections is invalid for administrators belonging to the NBIRole administrator group.
    3. Modify the permission, managed NEs, and allowed IP address segment of the administrator.
      • Click the Administrator Group tab, and select the administrator group as required from the administrator group list.

        When multiple administrator groups are selected, the administrator's permission is the combined permission of all the selected administrator groups.

      • On the Resources tab page, select NEs to manage.
      • On the Login Network Segment tab page, select an IP address for the administrator to log in to the eReplication.
      • On the Service Object tab page, select service object to manage.

      The modification of administrator permission, the resource information, and service object take effect only after the administrator re-logs in to the eReplication.

    4. Click OK.

  4. You can modify the administrator's password.

    1. Select the modified administrator and click More > Reset Password on the Operation list.

      The Reset Password dialog box is displayed.

    2. Reset the administrator's password.
    3. Click OK.
