Snapshot Creation Step Fails During A DR Test

Symptom

When you test a recovery plan, the snapshot creation step fails, and error message Resource (ID: {0}, owning device SN: {1}) does not exist. Please check whether the resource exists on the device. If it exists on the device, refresh the device and retry is displayed. Check whether the device exists. If yes, refresh the device and try again.

Possible Causes

Information about storage devices and VMs on the production or DR site is changed, but related resources are not refreshed.

Procedure

  1. Clear the recovery plan that fails to be tested. For details, see DR Testing in the DR Center.
  2. Manually refresh the device information. For details about the change items and operations, see Refreshing Resource Information.
  3. Perform the recovery plan test again. For details, see DR Testing in the DR Center.
