Refreshing Resource Information

If storage devices or VMs change, but the changes are not synchronized to UltraVR in a timely manner, you need to refresh this changed resource information before executing DR recovery. The resource information can be refreshed in either way: periodical polling using UltraVR or manual refreshing.

  • Centralized deployment, refresh the sites where resources are changed.
  • Distributed deployment, refresh the sites under UltraVR at both ends.

Information about the mapping view, logical port, remote replication, remote replication consistency group, and HyperMetro is changed, for example, adding or deleting operations, and other attributes such as status changes.

VM

  • Add or delete the VMs, or move the VMs to the other storage.
  • The LUNs used by datastore change.
  • The VMs change, for example, add or delete disks on the VMs, the network card change.
NOTE:

If the storage devices change, you need to refresh the storage devices.

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, select Resources.
  2. In the navigation tree, select the site where the network elements (storage devices or VMs) reside and click Refresh.

    In the upper right corner of the main page, click, in Background Task, you can view details about the refreshing.

    In the cluster, if the host information has changed in the host group, you can refresh the host group to refresh all the hosts information. In the shortcut button area, select the host group reside and click Refresh in the operation area.
