Creating a Site

Prerequisites

At least one local site has been created on the remote UltraVR management server and resources that need to be managed have been added to the site.

Context

If two UltraVR are deployed, add a remote management server to the local UltraVR. In this manner, the local UltraVR can manage local sites that are created on the peer end and added into the local UltraVR.

The following lists the active-passive DR solution's requirements on the number of sites.

• One UltraVR: two local sites
• Two UltraVR: a production center (local site), a DR center (local site)

Procedure

1. On the menu bar, select Resources.
2. Click Create Site.
3. Configure the site information by referring to Table 1.

   Table 1 Parameters for configuring a site

   Parameter	Description	Value
   Name	Site name	[Value range] Contains 4 to 32 characters. Contains letters, digits, underscores (_), and hyphens (-), and cannot start with a hyphen (-).
   Description	Description of a resource pool	[Value range] Contains 0 to 255 characters. [Example] Local site

4. Click OK.
