Functions (such as data replication) provided by storage devices are used by UltraVR to perform data protection and disaster recovery (DR) jobs. Before creating protected groups, you need to add storage devices.
One storage device can be added only to one site on UltraVR.

The user must have administrator rights. For example: user mm_user of storage array and user cmdadmin of Huawei Distributed Block Storage. |

If an added storage device does not need to be discovered, click Delete to delete it. The default information row cannot be deleted.
After storage devices are added, you can refresh, modify, and delete information about storage devices. For details about related operations, see Table 2.
Operation |
Prerequisite and Result |
|---|---|
In the row where the storage device resides, click Refresh on the Operation list. |
UltraVR automatically refreshes information about added storage devices every 12 hours to ensure the information on UltraVR is consistent with the actual information. If storage device information is modified, you need to refresh the information in UltraVR immediately. |
Locate the row that contains the target storage device and choose More > Modify in the Operation area. In the displayed Modify Device Information dialog box, modify the name or authentication information of the storage device. |
When the authentication information of a storage device changes, you need to synchronize the latest information to the UltraVR system in a timely manner to ensure smooth DR protection services. |
In the row where the storage device resides, click More > Delete on the Operation list. |
Delete unnecessary storage devices from the site. |
In the row where the storage device resides, click More > Device Management on the Operation list. |
