Protection Is Not Removed from the Unmounted Protected Volume of the VM and Residual Pairs Exist in the Protected Group After Fault Recovery and Reprotection

Symptom

After a volume in a Huawei distributed block storage protected group protected by a VM is unmounted, the protection is not removed. After the fault is rectified and the reprotection is complete, residual pairs exist in the protected group.

Possible Cause

The user does not perform volume management operations after the volume is unmounted.

Procedure

  1. Obtain the name and production storage pool of the volume that is being protected or whose capacity is to be expanded.

    1. On the menu bar, choose Protection.
    2. Select a protected group and choose Protected Object > Volume Management in the details area.
    3. On the Volume Management page, obtain the name of the volume that is in the Protecting state or whose capacity is to be expanded and the corresponding production storage pool.

  2. Log in to FusionCompute of the production end corresponding to the protected group and obtain the unique identifier of the volume name. For details, see Querying Data Store Information in the FusionCompute Product Documentation.

If the unique ID is not displayed, click the setting button in the upper right corner and select the unique ID.

  3. Removes a pair that is not in the pair list.

    1. Log in to Huawei distributed block storage at the production end corresponding to the protected group and obtain the remote replication pair corresponding to the unique identifier and the unique remote replication consistency group ID corresponding to the pair. For details, see Viewing Information About a Remote Replication Pair in the FusionStorage Block Storage Product Documentation.

If the remote replication consistency group ID is not displayed, click the setting button in the upper right corner and select the remote replication consistency group ID.

    2. Remove the pairs that are not in the pair list based on the remote replication pair and remote replication consistency group ID obtained in 3.a For details, see Removing a Remote Replication Pair in the FusionStorage Block Storage Product Documentation.

Before removing a pair, you need to suspend the consistency group. After the consistency group is suspended, service data cannot be protected in real time.

    3. After the consistency group is removed, manually synchronize the consistency group. For details, see Synchronizing a Remote Replication Consistency Group in the FusionStorage Block Storage Product Documentation.
