Enabling Data Replication Fails During a DR Test

Symptom

When a recovery plan is being tested, enabling data replication fails and error message Data synchronization failed is displayed.

Possible Cause

The remote replication or consistency group is in the Synchronizing state.

Procedure

  1. Log in to UltraVR.
  2. On the menu bar, choose Protection and click the protected group that fails to be executed.
  3. Click the Execution Records tab, click View under Execution Details, and view the description of the failure to enable data replication.

    • Method 1:
      1. On the menu bar, click Resources.
      2. In the navigation tree, select the site where the storage device is to be viewed.
      3. Click Storage in the navigation tree. In the Operation area of the row where the storage device resides, choose More > Manage Device.
      4. Log in to the storage array, check the status of the remote replication or remote replication consistency group, and wait until the replication is complete.
    • Method 2:
      1. Wait for 5 to 10 minutes. On the menu bar, choose Protection.
      2. Select the protected group for which you want to execute and click Execute on the Operation list.
      3. In the Question dialog box that is displayed, read the content of the dialog box carefully. Then click OK.

        The protection policies of the protected group are executed immediately. On the Execution Records tab page, you can view the execution result and details.

        If the protected group is in the Executing state for a long period, click in the upper right corner to refresh information.

  4. Perform the DR test again. For details, see DR Testing in the DR Center.
