By viewing the visualized global physical topology, you can quickly learn about the topology of the entire network between sites and monitor the status of devices such as hosts and storage arrays and links between devices.
Context
At least one user that has the permission to view the global topology exists in the system. (The user may have no permission for some resources in the global topology.)
Procedure
- On the menu bar, choose Monitor > Topology.
If a version earlier than 8.5.1 is upgraded to 8.5.1, the historical dragging data saved before the upgrade will not be reused. You need to drag and save the data again as required.
- View the physical topology exists in the system.
- You can move your cursor over a topology object to view its basic information. Topology objects are visualized objects in the actual network.
You can follow instructions in Table 1 to adjust the topology.

Select different refresh periods to adjust the interval between refreshing the global topology.

- You can perform the following operations to view details about devices and links.
- By double-clicking the icon of a local storage device, you can open the management page of the storage device and view its configuration.
- By double-clicking the link between storage devices, you can view details about the link.
- By double-clicking the link between the host and storage, you can view initiator information.
- Double-click the host icon or right-click the host icon and choose View Application from the shortcut menu to view information about applications on the host and protected groups corresponding to the applications.
You can view Name and Container ID of the PDBs in the Oracle container database.
