DR Recovery

If service data at the production center is lost or corrupted, you can use copies created during protection to back up and restore data.

Prerequisites

Precautions

Backup and restoration is based on the copy granularity. Some snapshots in a copy cannot be backed up and restored.

Context

When the storage resources or protected objects changed in the current time and snapshot copied time. For details about copy restoration scenarios and handling measures, see Copy-based Recovery and Risk Handling Measures.

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, select Utilization > Data Restore.
  2. Select the recovery plan that you want to use for data rollback. Then click Backup and Restore in the operation area.
  3. Select the duplicate that you want to rollback in the Backup and Restore dialog. Then click OK.
  4. In the Warning dialog box that is displayed, read the content of the dialog box carefully and select I have read and understood the consequences associated with performing this operation.
  5. Click OK.

The Air Gap protection takes over only the secondary replication end. During the backup and recovery, the recovered data is synchronized to the primary replication end. You may need to manually process the primary replication end to ensure successful backup and restoration. For example, in a backup (NAS) scenario, no read or write operation is performed on the primary NAS file system during backup and restoration.

Result

After the data rollback starts, you can view the execution process and result. If the task is failed, you can solve the problem and execute the task again.
