When applications in the production center are recovered to the peer end in a fault scenario, you can perform reprotection for the recovery plan after the source end is recovered to implement reverse protection for data in the DR center.
If applications in the production center need to be switched over as planned (for example, due to a power failure or routine O&M), you can perform reprotection for the recovery plan after stopping service loads in the production center. In this way, data in the DR center is reversely protected, and services are started in the DR center.
Prerequisites
- The production and DR centers communicate with each other properly. The management system and the DR environment in the DR center are working normally.
- If the Kubernetes cluster information at the production or DR site changes, manually refresh the device information. For details about the change items and operations, see Updating a Protected Group.
- Ensure that the Kubernetes cluster at the DR site has the same image as that at the production site.
Procedure
- Perform reprotection to protect services switched to the DR center.
Recover the active-active status and synchronize the data from the DR center to the production center. After the reprotection, the original DR center is the data center that takes over services.
- On the menu bar, select Utilization > Data Restore.
- Select the recovery plan for which you want to perform reprotection. In the Operation area, choose More > Reprotection.
- In the confirmation dialog box that is displayed, carefully read the content and click OK.
Operation Result
After the reprotection is complete, the protected group becomes normal.
