Before configuring disaster recovery (DR) services, check the storage environments of the production end and the DR end where LUNs reside. If the storage environments do not meet requirements, modify storage configurations.
Common Check Items
Check the storage environments of the production end and the DR end.
- Check the remote replication between the production end and the DR end. Before using remote replication to protect objects at the production end, ensure that the remote replication is normal between the production end and the DR end.
- In the HyperMetro (SAN) + HyperVault DR (SAN) scenario. If multiple LUNs are used, related remote replications must be added to one consistency group.
DR End
- Delete the LUNs mapped to the DR host or test host at the DR end and ensure that the corresponding drive letters are not occupied by other LUNs.
- Check the storage configurations of the DR end.
- If the storage is T series V2R2 or later, or 18000 series, automatic host adding and storage mapping are provided. Ensure that the storage is connected properly to host initiators. In this manner, the system can automatically create hosts, host groups, LUN groups, and mapping views on the storage.
- If T series V2 or later is deployed at the DR site, the DR host whose services you want to recover can belong only to one host group that belongs only to one mapping view. Moreover, the storage LUN used by protected applications and its corresponding secondary remote replication LUNs must belong to one LUN group, and the LUN group must reside in the same mapping view as the host group.
