If storage devices, hosts or VMs change, but the changes are not synchronized to eReplication in a timely manner, you need to refresh this changed resource information before executing DR recovery. The resource information can be refreshed in either way: periodical polling using eReplication or manual refreshing.
Context
- Periodical polling using eReplication
eReplication periodically refreshes resource information. Table 1 lists the update periods of various types of resources.

Changed Item
Storage device
Information about hosts, host groups, initiators, mapping views, LUNs, file systems, logical ports, and clones is changed. For example, attributes, such as status, are changed when you perform adding or deletion.
VM
- Add or delete the VMs, or move the VMs to the other storage.
- The LUNs used by datastore change.
- The VMs change, for example, add or delete disks on the VMs, the network card change.
NOTE:If the storage devices change, you need to refresh the storage devices.
Host
The initiator, application or storage information change.
Procedure
- On the menu bar, select Resources.
- In the navigation tree, select the site where the network elements (storage devices, hosts, or VMs) reside and click Refresh.
In the upper right corner of the main page, click
, in Background Task, you can view details about the refreshing.
In the cluster, if the host information has changed in the host group, you can refresh the host group to refresh all the hosts information. in the shortcut area, select the host group reside and click Refresh in the operation area.
- On the menu bar, select Protection.
- Click the refreshed protected group, click Refresh on the Operation list to refresh information of the protected group.
In the upper right corner of the main page, click
, in Background Task, you can view details about the refreshing.
